Why Get Pre-Qualified?
1. Pre-qualification acts as a dry run of the loan application process. The mortgage lender will use details you provide about your credit, income, assets and debts to arrive at an estimate of how much mortgage you can afford. The whole process may take only minutes or a few hours at most, and is free.
2. While a "pre-qual" is non-binding to the lender (because the information you provide has not been verified), it does serve as a good indication to potential sellers of your general creditworthiness.
3. These days most sellers will NOT accept an offer without at least a pre-approval letter, so if you are serious about buying this is the first step towards getting you in your new home.

Scott Hill has been licensed with Western Ohio Mortgage since 1998. Scott’s extensive knowledge and experience in lending provides him with a unique view of the market and he is able to share this knowledge and understanding with his clients to help them make the best decisions for their financial needs and desires.
Scott specializes in FHA (Federal Housing Administration), VA (Veterans Affairs), RD (Rural Development) as well as conventional loans. He has been a Senior Loan Officer with Western Ohio Mortgage since September 2002.
Scott understands that a purchase of a home is often the largest purchase a person will make in their lifetime and he believes loan officers have an obligation to be well educated to provide the level of service and protection they deserve. He is constantly furthering his knowledge in the field as well as through continuing education.
Scott understands the stresses and hassles often involved in the buying and refinancing process and he strives to alleviate these concerns for his clients as much as possible.
Scott is from Trenton, Ohio and is a 1992 graduate of Edgewood High School. Scott was married to his wife Katie in 1998 and together they have two boys, Jake and Jack. He and his family currently reside in Lebanon, Ohio where they’ve been since 2002.
Scott was involved in Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4-H throughout his high school years and remains passionate about the agriculture industry today. He has many friends who are farmers and he enjoys helping them as much as he can during planting and harvest seasons. He is a member of Ohio Cattleman’s Association (OCA) and National Rifle Association (NRA). He is also a supporter of clubs such as 4-H and Ohio‘s Best Program where his oldest son shows his heifer.
Scott currently sits on the board of trustees for the Kentucky Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities. Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC) have raised over $36 Million since its inception in 1982. They are a nonprofit organization that continually strives to care for children with educational, financial, social and medical needs to help them lead healthy, productive lives. Scott also enjoys traveling with his family and spent several years boating at Conley Bottom Resort at Lake Cumberland. He is a dedicated fan of National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA) and attends Bowling Green, Ohio each summer for the largest pull of the year.
